Carers Net Staff

Jon Bolton

jon@carers.net

Jon is the system moderator of CarersNet. He is responsible for managing the website and the information displayed on it. He also co-ordinates the development of web pages for carer organisations, and can provide some training and support. As a Social Worker for a Children with Disability team in Fife, he is in constant contact with carers. Ask him about pretty much anything you never dared ask anyone else - he'll probably know where to find the answer even if he doesn't know the answer.

Sebastian Fischer

seb@carers.net

Seb is the project manager of CarersNet. He works for VOCAL (Voice of Carers Across Lothian) and is based in Edinburgh - conveniently less than 50 yards from the Scottish Parliament! Ask him about: CarersNet history, development, finance, vision and the bigger picture, don't ask him about HTML, ISDN, FTP, IRC and other technical details, but he knows how to send an e-mail and how to get the best person for any job.

Elizabeth McDade

elizabeth@emcdade.freeserve.co.uk

Elizabeth is a volunteer at the Aberdeen Carers Centre and works freelance for CarersNet. At a moment of weakness she took on the job of sifting through hundreds of websites - listed as LINKS on CarersNet - to select the best and describe what they have to offer. Tell her about any other website you think should be included on CarersNet, and send her the details.

Alistar Frater

al@carers.net

Alistar is known to many carer organisations as the man who turned up to get them connected to e-mail and the Internet. Alistar pioneered the pilot web site 'Carers Connect Scotland' and plays a key part in administering the bulletin board facilities hosted by Telford College. Alistar works as a sessional volunteer for the project and will help carer groups with e-mail addresses and a wide range of practical advice, including visits across Scotland to sort things out.

Steve Warner

steve@carers.net

As Sessional Tutor for Computer Communications (Highlands and Islands), Steve has installed software and provided training in such diverse locations as Skye, Elgin, Nairn, Lochinver and Golspie. Steve's major project has been with Sutherland Young Carers, who are based in Golspie and Lochinver and are putting PCs into the homes of a number of Young Carers. As well as providing services for CarersNet, Steve is a self employed ICT consultant and is involved in a number of other projects in the Highlands.
